About SENSORS@25

Why Attend SENSORS@25?

ADVANCING TECHNOLOGY FOR HUMANITY THROUGH SENSING

SENSORS@25 is a landmark milestone event of the IEEE Sensors Council, celebrating the 25th anniversary of its flagship IEEE Sensors Conference and the Council’s conference activities that began with it. More than a celebration, the event serves as a global platform for reflection and debate that will help define the next era of sensing science and technology.
Designed as a single-track experience, SENSORS@25 brings together pioneers, emerging leaders, researchers, innovators, from around the world. Through short 15- to 20-minutehigh-impact keynote talks delivered in a TED style, panel discussions, fireside chats, interactive sessions, and live demonstrations, participants will reflect on past achievements, examine present challenges, and collectively shape a strategic vision for the future of sensing. All talks will be professionally recorded so that the insights shared during the event can reach the broader sensors community.

The three-day program is structured around three themes: Honoring the Past, reflecting on historical advances in sensors; Strengthening the Present, focusing on how current sensors research and applications can be further advanced; and Inspiring the Future of Sensing, laying out roadmaps for progress in sensors and sensor-enabled advances across applications from the near to the long term. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration across areas such as robotics, communications, materials, artificial intelligence, climate and environmental monitoring, transportation, energy, health, and global challenges, while also highlighting forward-looking topics including quantum sensing, digital twins, and advanced sensing technologies.

Hosted in Cairo, Egypt, SENSORS@25 represents a deliberate effort to strengthen engagement with the sensors community in Africa and the Middle Eastand to expand the global reach of the IEEE Sensors Council. By fostering collaboration across disciplines, regions, and generations, the event supports the IEEE mission and opens new pathways for innovation.
For those shaping the future of sensing science and technology, SENSORS@25 offers a rare opportunity to be part of a defining moment for the field.

Who should Attend SENSORS@25?

SENSORS@25 is a highly curated milestone event designed for individuals across all generations who have made significant and recognized contributions to sensing science and technology.
